‘Formentera Lady’ at the 21st Malaga Film Festival

We are delighted to announce that the feature film ‘Formentera Lady' has been selected in the Official Selection of the 21st Malaga Film Festival which will be held between April 13 and 22.

Formentera Lady is the debut film by Pau Durà It stars José Sacristán, Sandro Ballesteros, Jordi Sánchez, and Nora Navas. It is produced by Fosca Films and Sunrise Picture, in co-production with La Perifèrica Produccions and Good Machine Films. The film is co-produced by TV3 and Telespan, with the collaboration of ICEC, IVAC, the Formentera Island Council, and the Balearic Islands Tourism Agency, as well as the participation of RTVE, TV3, Àpunt Media, and IB3.

The feature film ‘Formentera Lady’ tells the story of Samuel, a hippie from the 70s who arrived in Formentera and has remained there ever since. He lives without electricity in a house on the beach and plays the banjo in a dive bar. One day, he receives a visit from his daughter Anna and his grandson Marc. Unemployed for some time, she has accepted a job in France that requires her to leave alone. After initially rejecting her, the old hippie's daughter begs him to help her, even if it's just this once in his life. The fragile and eccentric hippie decides to take care of his grandson, a relationship that triggers a return to a past with some dark shadows. A twilight journey that will be both hopeful and initiatory.

The Spanish films ‘Formentera Lady’ and ‘Las distancias’, the Cuban film ‘Los buenos demonios’ and the Argentine film ‘La reina del miedo’ are in the official selection of the 21st Malaga Film Festival.

The Malaga Film Festival presents the program for its 21st edition, from April 13 to 22, 2018.
